Knock Knock, Christmas Is Right Around The Corner

Christmas will always be my favourite time of the year! The cold weather invites us to stay inside, all cozied up with a warm cup of tea, freshly baked cake and snuggling with a blanket by the fireplace. The smell of spices in the air. Christmas lights, mistletoe, candy canes and snow globes make my heart melt no matter how freezing cold it is. Walking hand in hand with your love and talking with that winterish ghost breath (Ah, I love that!). The ring-a-ling of Christmas bells during Christmas songs. If you’re lucky enough, sleigh rides in the snow! Being with your family and friends around the Christmas tree, and the tradition of putting it up every year and decorating the house. Everyone falls in love at Christmas so forget all your problems. Yep, I still believe it’s that time of the year when all your dreams come true. And I love the fact that I was born in the Christmas Eve Eve. At least to my mom I will always be the greatest Christmas gift of all time!

That’s why I’m utterly sad that we don’t get to have a Christmas tree this year. Having recently moved to the UK and investing in a new place is making it impossible to spend money on Christmas decorations. Booo, me no likey. Worry not, because I will be filling this blog with all those Christmasy images until we’re all puking glitter out of our eyes!
But oh well, Christmas is all about that. Cherishing the blessings you have in your life, the fact that you have a roof above your head, someone you love next to you, a loving family no matter for how small it is, good health, a set of clothes to keep you warm, food on your plate and enough money to keep you safe and sound. I’ve got plenty to be thankful for and will surely make an extra effort this year to spread some good old holiday love to my wonderful loved ones, because tree or no tree, that’s the real meaning of Christmas to me.

Happy holiday season everyone!
