Things That Made My Day

1. Giving a brand new toy to Yoshi, the Cat

And seeing it immediately destroyed in his furry paws, little hell raiser! Well, at least he enjoyed it while it lasted right? Giving random treats to my kitten makes me happy in my pants.

2. A vegetarian hot dog by sunset with my love

Hot Dog Lovers has this giant yummylicious vegetarian hotdogs that get me drooling whenever I speak of them. Full of cheese and a special sauce, cruelty free and way healthier than the meat ones! Of course I had to order a Coke along with it, junk food and a can of Coke has got to be the most perfect match. Did I mention it was the best way to end a week day, with the best company of the world? Oh, le boyfriend!

3. iCloud on the iPad

I’m loving the iOs 5 and backing up all my stuff in the cloud feels amazing. My womanly instinct made me buy the 15GB storage plan, so I can sleep at night knowing that it’s all safe and sound. Yo, magical cloud up in the skies I praise you!

4. A Quick Healthy Lunch

A black-eyed pea and caper salad sprinkled with freshly roasted sesame seeds and lime mayo on top. What a mega protein boost out of veggie goodness!

5. Enjoying the last walks in Lisbon

I’ve never been very fond of this city. Circumstance got me stuck here for the last 3 years, and even though I was happy here, now it’s time to make our plan come to life. Though the feeling of walking the streets of Lisbon for the last time got me really excited with the thought of leaving this town for good and I am really savoring that feeling.

Hope you all had a great day today! Weekend is just around the corner guys 😉

Hairstyle Make Over: Fall/Winter Edition

If this was a confessionary I’d probably had to confess that I do suffer from pre-hair salon tension, as some of you do too. That’s probably the main reason why I only go to the hair salon for a cut about 2 times a year, and will never risk to do any major change. Hummm and hair colouring, well, I usually do it at home every now and then, with some cheap hair dye bought at the drug store. It’s on a never-ending quest to achieve a great hair colour, but instead I get damaged poodle hair with a shiny new colour that only lasts around 2 weeks. I know, I’m not the best example of hair care but I’m willing to change my ways.

Thankfully last week I got a promotional email from Goodlife! which offered a brutal discount on a hairstyle make over at a Day Spa in Lisbon, that included highlights, a keratin hair mask, washing, brushing and styling. All for a bargain, 35€ instead of 181€!

My anxiety was lowered since I’ve already talked to the hairdresser yesterday – which is a hella-funny brazilian gay guy by the way -, and both decided what I should go for. I’m opting for the californian highlighting technique, not in the typical blonde, but toning down my natural brown color into an auburn light brown. Californian highlights are very similar to balayage – or your frosting tip application- only instead of painting it in with a frosting tip you would pick your piece twist, like you were nervous and apply colour to the twisted piece. You’ll get a more natural look this way, like that sun kissed hair look from the beach.

Also I’m head over heels in love with long hair, I have never had my hair this long and I’m planning on continuing growing it, though I will probably have to trim it down a bit. At least I might say goodbye to my split-ends and hello to shiny healthier looking hair!

Here are some inspirational images, I gotta say I am really loving this rich auburn brown! What do you think?

What can you say, I absolutely love brown hair, thankfully I was born a brunette and I guess I will always stay this way.
So yes, if you’ve got it, flaunt it girls!

Weekly Awesomeness: Whole Foods Market’s Thrive, Paris Fashion Week and iOs 5

Monday has got to be the least favorite day for most people. Whether it means getting back to work, school or just saying buh-bye to the weekend, well you can’t help but face routine. To easy it up for you, I’ve chosen monday to post some interesting finds over the internet.

Want to know the meaning of your name? I’ve always found these things quite interesting in a funny way. According to this, my name is short for Margarita/Margaret, and believed to be an Ancient Greece name which meant “Pearl”! What does your name mean?

I’m in love with Kate Spade’s stunning bracelets and rings. Especially the Bow Bridge Bangle and Ring and all the Idiom Bangles. Santa, please?

Thrive is the newest Whole Foods Market initiative, and I’m already hooked on it! It’s an amazing media project where different people tell different stories through episodes, from ecological ideas on how to recycle stuff around the house, growing your own vegetables, gluten-free recipes, to where your food comes from. Urban Eco is my favorite!

And, here’s a set of the 10 best collections seen on the Paris Fashion Week’s runway!

Apple iOs 5 will be available in a couple of days. Come to mommy!

Have a wonderful week everyone!
