Almost Home

Four days ago I was landing in the marvelous city of London, without any clue of what was going to happen. Felt like skinny dipping into the unknown, and boy, it couldn’t have felt any more right! Uncertainty means an eventual change and it’s a brand new chance for reinventing yourself within you.
Every day I’m roaming around a foreign city, marvelling at its gorgeous architecture, enjoying the autumn breeze and falling leaves hand in hand with my love, while a million things are happening in the same moment. It may seem peaceful but nay. It’s been hectic, chaotic and not for the faint of heart, but all worth it.
I never liked it easy though. Easy is for losers. So never forget that the best things in life don’t come easily and you’ll have to fight against all odds.

I know now that getting a home while being a foreigner is not piece of cake, especially in this exact moment of the year where lettings are falling short, prices are getting higher and getting a good deal means racing against time and other possible tenants. Dealing with international banks abroad and signing contracts with estate agencies may be frustrating… I swear some times I thought I was gonna have a heart attack from all the anxiety and seeing things going constantly back and forth!

Fortunately, either we were very lucky or we just tackled all obstacles quickly enough to get a marvelous groundfloor flat with a lovely already landscaped backyard in South West London, where we’ll be hopefully moving in next monday! I never thought we could land such an amazing and dream-like place like the one we found. It is super cozy and refurbished with an awesome kitchen with purple tiles. It was love at first sight. Oh, and did I mention the Smeg fridge that’s in it? Yay!

Needless to say I am already daydreaming about house nesting and christmas decorations for our new London home! But still, “Happy are those who dream dreams and are willing to pay the price to make them come true.”

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! And if you’re in the UK make sure to have a very sparkling bonfire weekend!
