Hi.

Well, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? I didn’t actually plan to take such a long break from blogging, but it did seem the best at that time. I knew I would come back eventually, I just didn’t have any specific sort of time frame in mind.

Since my last post in 2012, so many things have happened: since quitting my job and opening a small business to getting married. Life has been nothing but a whirlwind which is good. Though the days of ritafontes.com are long gone, Hey Rita will continue its steps. I’ve been on and off blogging since 2003 (Livejournal and Blurty anyone?), it only makes sense to continue doing so.

Though I’ve always questioned why one should blog when they don’t really have much to say, the truth is even the most ordinary people have a story to tell. I miss writing. I miss documenting my little life as I used to. I don’t have Facebook, I mainly use Twitter to keep me up to date with news, I do use Instagram on a regular basis. On the other hand, I do read way too many blogs! I swear I haven’t bought a single magazine in the last 4 years because blogs are simply enough.

I have a tendency to live in the moment, I often forget to stop and think and savour life as it is. That’s why I usually struggle with keeping a blog. Most people don’t realise it’s hard work, it takes effort and time. My hat’s off to all of you who can focus and maintain one!

With a helping hand from my supportive husband, we’ve migrated the old content to heyrita.co.uk and gave it a brand new look. The old URL is redirecting to the new domain so you don’t get lost in translation. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
