Hometown Glory

I’m so sorry for being away lately. *sad trombone* This last week has been awfully busy with all the packing and cleaning the apartment, giving away old clothes, selling old household appliances and throwing away thousands of bags of old stuff and getting everything done before moving all the way to London!
By the end of every day I just wanted permission to land on my comfy warm bed and sleep! Though I can’t seem to hide the excitement and gratitude for being able to finally make this life-changing move slash life-long dream. I can’t believe in exactly 7 days we’re already there!

These last couple of days have been just great, after all the chaos from last week it feels amazing being back in our hometown and spending some quality time with the family, and  just relax and be with my wonderful mom and my lil’ brother, visiting my grandparents and hanging with my love.
We met here, grew up here, fell deeply in love here. This town shaped us into who we are now, and I’m ever so grateful. This was a very special place to grow up in, and I have so many good memories to cherish. Lots of high school drama, sneaking out of the house when you were grounded, real friends, real talks, real feelings, those special little places that we happily called our own and made our days.

We took a nice walk here today, in the very first real fall day of 2011 in Portugal. Even though I only came here a few times in my childhood, I do remember I used to play here with some kids thinking this was some sort of wild forest. Rad.

Cherish all your memories because that’s what made you, you. Take a sip of life and savour every bit of it! <3
